Head Coach

Boys & Girls Cross Country And Track

Coach Sean Fairchild ran track in high school. He competed in 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, long jump, triple jump and high jump.

Coach Fairchild received his BBA in Finance from Howard Payne University. He was also a four year starter on the football team and received All-Conference honors as Defensive End. While at Howard Payne, Coach Fairchild played football with our very own Plano West Head Tennis coach, Morgen Walker.

After college, Coach Fairchild lived in Abilene for 14 years. During that time, he coached every sport his kids played (soccer, basketball, football, baseball, softball, track, etc.) and volunteered in their classrooms as much as possible. That time volunteering with the kids completely changed his life and eventually changed his career.

Coach Fairchild started coaching summer track in 2006, covering every event except pole vault and eventually evolved into a private coach. He has been with the district since 2013 and at Plano West since 2016. He has a Level II Certification from USATF. Coach Fairchild says "I believe in constant growth and self improvement therefore I regularly attend seminars, workshops, and visit with experienced athletes and coaches."

Coach Fairchild has 2 kids, Lauren and Grant. Lauren, is a graduate and 4x All-American (Track) of Colorado State University-Pueblo. Grant ran track for two years at A&M-Corpus and now attends Texas A&M University and works for 12th Man Productions.

BOB MOLYET

Assistant Coach

Boys & Girls Cross Country and Track

Coach Bob Molyet grew up in Ohio on a farm and played football and wrestled in high school. He started his coaching career in Ohio and has been coaching for 35 years. In 2002 he was named the Head Track & Field Coach at Dallas Jesuit. From 2004 to 2013 Coach Molyet’s Track & Field teams won 4 district championships, and finished 2nd twice and 3rd three other years. In two years as the Head Cross Country Coach his teams were District Champions and District runner-ups. Coach Molyet had 20 athletes move on to compete at the Division I Level. Coach Molyet also worked at Eastern Michigan University, Ohio University and University of Missouri as a part of the football staffs.

Coach Molyet was out of teaching and coaching for the past two years and realized what made him happiest was working with young adults. His main goal is to develop each student and athlete to be their very best! "I will challenge the students/athletes to push themselves to develop to their fullest potential while growing socially and emotionally."

Coach Molyet is married to Darcy Molyet for the past 18 years and they have 2 boys, Justin, 29 and Jon, 27. Coach Molyet and his wife also have two golden retrievers who keep things lively.
